The convention of 5 october 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (HCCH 1961 Apostille Convention) facilitates the use of public documents abroad. The purpose of the Convention is to abolish the traditional requirement of legalisation, replacing the often long and costly legalisation process with the issuance of a single Apostlille certificate by a Competent Authority in place where the document originates.
An Apostille is a certificate which certifies the legality of a document for international use in Hague member countries. An Authentication certifies the legitimacy of documents for countries who are not Hague members, or non-Hague countries.
Vital Records, such as Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificates and Death Certificates and Authenticated with an Apostille. The Apostille again, certifies the certificate is authentic
The entire process, whether Apostille or Authentication is at times, referred to as legalization.
The first step would be confirming the appointment with the client. Second step, I will pick up the documents from client. Third step, I will certify the documents and have the documents back to the client between 1 to 5 business days. Further instructions will provided over the phone, or in person.
